Nice list Andrew. It's harder to evaluate player WAR for those that played the bulk of their careers before 1900 but the ones you mention are good examples. Jim Edmonds is another one of those players with a career WAR below 70 (unlike Grich and Whitaker). They all should not be Almost guys and should be enshrined in Cooperstown!
